SLEDDING!
With a nice base of snow already on the ground from earlier in the week, and a fresh dusting on Christmas day, the girls and I decided to walk down the street to a nice sledding hill yesterday. The girls had a blast pushing each other down the hill and I was able to make a few images of this great day in the snow.

THEARTOFCYCLING.COM
I'd like to announce the arrival of theartofcycling.com! I've had this idea for a long time and finally decided to drag the idea (kicking and screaming, I might add) out of the back of my head and onto the internets. The idea is simple. I love cycling. I love photography. I like to feast my eyes on other visual art too. Theartofcycling.com is a celebration of art, cycling, and the relationship of the two. This site is in its infancy and is sure to change and morph with time. If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear from you! Email me at mitch [at] mitchkline dot com.
If you're an artist - photographer, videographer, painter, etc - send me links to your cycling-related art project.
Thanks for looking!

FROM THE VAULT - FEB 02, 2003
Feb 02, 2003 - Minneapolis, MN
Winter in Minneapolis is long, dark and cold. Riding a bicycle in these elements poses its challenges, but the experience can also be rewarding. I've enjoyed some of my most memorable cycling experiences in the most harsh weather conditions. The tranquility of riding a bicycle during a snowstorm is impossible to explain to those who haven't experienced it. The cold weather lately seemed like an appropriate time to dust off a few images I made during one of those memorable winter rides back in 2003.

MARATHON

My wife attempted and finished her first marathon (Nike Women's Marathon, San Francisco, CA) yesterday. Her goal was to finish in 4:30 and she crushed it, finishing in 4:11. I have a great deal of respect for anyone even attempting to complete a marathon and I'm so proud of her for her accomplishment!

Phish - Red Rocks - Aug 02, 2009
Well, luck was on my side again yesterday! I had a great seat, so unlike usual, I stayed in my spot the entire show. Second set of this show was hands down the best set of Phish I've witnessed and one of the best I've heard. I'll have a few more shots posted shortly...

Phish - Red Rocks Amphitheatre - July 30, 2009
Incredible night of Phish at Red Rocks last night! No photo pass, but had my little Canon S3 IS with me so I wandered around for some shots. Chris Kuroda is the best in the business! Posted a dozen to a flickr set. Enjoy!

Mammatus Clouds
These are called Mammatus clouds. I captured this image at about 8:30 PM on July 06, 2009, after a strong storm rolled through the Denver metro. This is looking east, toward DIA. I rarely see these clouds and its a special treat whenever they appear. Luckily I was able to walk down the street and get a few shots before they disappeared into the night...

The Photo Atlas Publicity Photo Published in Alternative Press!
I had the pleasure of shooting The Photo Atlas near their headquarters in Denver, CO in January. Our photoshoot was for press/publicity images for their upcoming EP "To Silently Provoke the Ghost", to be released April 21. This photo was used in Alternative Press #250. The image appears on page 50, along with a short feature on the band.
